Safeguarding

Protecting the safety and wellbeing of all the people we work with is of the utmost importance to us at NYKays Recruitment.

Our robust, rigorous safeguarding process is designed to give all of our clients absolute peace of mind – the schools we work with know that every single one of our candidates has the necessary experience, skills and qualifications to provide the safest and best-quality service to the vulnerable children and young adults they work with.

Before placing any candidate with an employer, we undertake full safeguarding checks in compliance with the DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, including:

Identity check

Eligibility to work in the UK check

Enhanced DBS disclosure:

○ Barred list/List 99 check
○ Prohibition Order check
○ Childcare Disqualification Regulation check (including Disqualification by Association)

At the start of a placement, candidates will provide their employers with relevant identity documents, a DBS certificate and a completed compliance assessment checklist.

We also require a full written application from every potential candidate, along with a detailed CV and written professional references. All shortlisted candidates are required to attend a face-to-face interview with our team of experts to assess their suitability to work with our clients.

Once a candidate is approved, they are offered ongoing training to maintain and develop their skills. Candidates are given full briefings on the specific requirements and policies of individual employers ahead of any placement they may undertake.
